The Art of Renaissance Florence and Rome

Our remarkable journey began in the captivating city of Florence, Italy, a place deeply ingrained with the essence of Renaissance art and era. Our quest to explore this historic period led us to delve into the heart of Italian culture, where we had the privilege of gaining hands-on experience and visiting some of the country's most renowned art museums. I must admit, I was utterly captivated by the opulence and diversity present in Italy's culinary culture. During our time in Florence, we were fortunate enough to study and admire the works of great masters such as Donatello and Leonardo da Vinci. We had the unique opportunity to witness some of Da Vinci's earlier creations as well as his unfinished sculptures from his later years. Observing these stunning pieces up close allowed us to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for their human aspect, which instantly revealed the finesse and determination of these artists while working with their chosen materials.

This intimate encounter with the artwork forged an unparalleled connection between us and the environment that surrounded us. The masterpieces we marvelled at not only showcased the artist's exceptional skill but also served as timeless reminders of their commitment to capturing the essence and spirit of their subjects. Each piece we encountered contributed to our growing appreciation for these artists who have left an indelible mark on history because they dared to bring their unique visions to life. Art in Germany from the Middle Ages to the 20th Century

The pinnacle of our scholastic journey transpired in the vibrant and dynamic metropolis of Berlin, where we were afforded the unique opportunity to delve deep into captivating artistic movements such as Dadaism and Romanticism. I could have never envisioned that I would be gifted with the remarkable chance to travel to Germany for a comprehensive examination of the creative arts. However, after having experienced this exceptional adventure, I can assert with confidence that it is a destination I would be utterly ecstatic to return to in the future. The influence of this journey has been so significant that it has motivated me to contemplate the possibility of pursuing my postgraduate studies in this enthralling country. MISSION TRIP

Alethia Church and Alumbra Church

Barranquilla, Colombia

In the spring of 2022, I experienced an immense sense of gratitude and blessing for having had the chance to participate in a mission trip alongside my fellow church members from Aletheia. Our group embarked on a journey to Barranquilla, Colombia, where we engaged in service work for schools and communities with limited resources.

My role within the team primarily involved translation work, as well as being an integral part of the Arts and Crafts group. This mission trip offered me numerous opportunities to hone my communication skills. Given that I was one of the few Spanish speakers in our group, I found myself playing a significant role in facilitating interactions between different pastors, guest speakers, and various educational institutions ranging from middle to high schools.

Over the course of our trip, we attended and participated in numerous conferences held at these schools, where I helped bridge linguistic gaps between presenters and attendees. This not only enabled me to improve my language abilities but also taught me valuable lessons about engaging with diverse audiences.

Throughout my time working with the local community in Barranquilla, I found the entire experience to be incredibly rewarding. It opened my eyes to the challenges faced by school systems in developing countries and reshaped my understanding of their circumstances. Being able to contribute positively to their lives through our service work left a lasting impact on me, making me even more appreciative of my own educational experiences and opportunities.
